OKIMANYI PROJECT LAUNCHED IN LUZIRA.

The Commissioner General of Prisons yesterday Thurday 24th August, 2017 launched the OKIMANYI Project by the African Prisons Project at Luzira. Okimanyi is a health education project being implemented in the Luzira Prison Complex targeting the youth (children of prison staff, some prison staff and prisoners).

The project is aimed at increasing awareness among children and youth between the ages of 3- 24 years in the Luzira Prisons Community.

 

The CGP broke ground on the construction of the Youth Centre and project initiatives.

Health education sessions will be incorporated into recreation and sports activities to make health more attractive and fun for the beneficiaries.
