The Commissioner General of Prisons, Can. Dr. Johnson Byabashaija was awarded with the JLOS Distinguished Service Award 2017 at the Recognition awards 2017 during the 22nd Joint Government of Uganda and Development Partners JLOS Annual Review conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Also recognised at the event was the Public Relations Officer of Uganda Prisons Service, Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, Frank Baine Mayanja for the JLOS Public Affairs and Media Relations Award 2017.
