PRINCIPAL JUDGE TOURS LUZIRA PRISONS COMPLEX

The Principal Judge of the Republic of Uganda, His Lordship Yorokamu Bamwine early this week on 27-28 March, 2017 toured the Luzira Prisons Complex on a two day sensitization tour and launch of the Plea Bargaining Programme in the prisons.

He visited and interacted with inmates at Upper Maximum, Luzira Women, Kampala Remand and Murchison Bay Prisons. The inmates through their representatives requested fairness during the Plea bargains and should be based on first come first serve basis but not who is rich who is poor to show fairness.

The inmates expressed their gratitude and joy at the Principal Judges’ visit while appreciating the plea bargaining programme which has already helped with many cases.
