The Permanent secretary, Ministry of Internal Affairs Dr Benon Mutambi Mugisha on Monday 10 December, 2018 commissioned Uganda Government Prison Farm Orom-Tikau in Kitgum district.

This was during his tour of Prison stations in Northern Uganda,Acholi sub-region he visited Gulu Main, Gulu women, Lugore prison farm and Orom-Tikau farm.

Orom-Tikau farm primarily produces cotton for the textile industry in Uganda. Its commissioning was attended by the local area leadership and the community

The PS was accompanied by the Director of Prisons, Production and Engineering Nsalasatta David, the Region Prisons Commander Northern SSP Margret Orik Obonyo, District Prisons Commander & OC Gulu main SP Mucunguzi Emmanuel and OCs of the various stations in the region.

During the tour the permanent secretary visited the Low cost construction units being put for staff, the clinic facilities,rehabilitation activities, the farm fields and storage rooms and interacted with inmates.
