The  new female ward at Uganda Government Prison Kamuli in Kamuli district was commissioned on the 18^th May, 2023 by the Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons, Director Production and Engineering Robert Munanura on behalf of the Commissioner General of Prisons. The new facility was constructed by the Uganda Prisons Service Engineering brigade in a period of six months.

The commissioning was witnessed by the district political leadership of Kamuli who were very happy with the development.

The Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons, Director Production and Engineering, Robert Munanura who represented the CGP was happy and thanked the Government of Uganda under the leadership of H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the support given to UPS over time. He further thanked the Commissioner General of Prisons for providing funding to the UPS Engineering Brigade through the accounting officer, Undersecretary Samuel Emiku and his team.

The Assistant Commissioner General of Prisons was accompanied by Commissioner of Prisons, Custodial Services, Asinjah Baker, Assistant Commissioner of Prisons, RPC South-Eastern Region Masiga Patrick, Superintendent of Prisons, Engineering, Nakakawa.
