GENDER SENSITIVITY MANAGEMENT OF WOMEN IN PRISONS.
The Uganda Prisons Service (UPS), in partnership with Penal Reform International (PRI) and the Embassy of the Netherlands Kingdom in Uganda on 20th August 2024 launched a specialized training program for prison officers on gender-sensitive and human rights approaches in managing women in prison.

officers graduated from the Prisons Academy and Training School in Luzira,
after completion of a six-month Intermediate Command and Staff Course (ICSC) on
21 June 2024. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. Maj. Gen (Rtd) Kahinda
Otafiire, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.
