The Uganda Prisons Service would like to clarify on an online story circulating on social media regarding the death of a one Serunkuma John Bosco killed in Kitalya Mini Max Prison.
The Annual Prisons Industries’ performance report - 2019/2020. It has been another year of achievements amidst challenges. Despite the effects of Covid-19 for almost half the financial year, the department reports a better performance in the FY2019/2020 as compared to FY 2018/2019.
The Uganda Prisons Service with support from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) on Monday 16 November, 2020 were hosted to a workshop at Imperial Royale Hotel on the developed Training Modules on Preventing and Countering Violent extremism (PCVE) in Prisons.
The Commissioner General of Prisons, informs all persons who had applied for the post of recruit warders and wardresses and were scheduled to undergo interviews between 16th and 21 Nov 2020, that the interviews have been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. Another date for the interviews will be communicated later.
All inconveniences caused are highly regretted.

The Commissioner General of Prisons, Dr Johnson Byabashaija visited Uganda Government Prison Moroto on an inspection tour of the facility following the escape of 223 prisoners last week.
